Educating the Workforce and Other Parties

As part of Company induction, new employees receive environmental training that describes the problems we face and how Hamilton Hall formulates and implements its environmental policy.

All supplier and sub-contractor services and products are assessed on environmental grounds before acceptance.

We manage our paper usage in two ways:

• Externally produced marketing material and correspondence is recycled once no longer needed.
• Internally produced material is on recycled paper and we are continually seeking to reduce the amount of paper used by circulating information by electronic means.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems form a core component of Hamilton Hall capability. We manage the impact of our use of ICT systems on the environment as follows:

• Sourcing - procurement of new ICT systems is based on a combination of cost and the environmental policies and practices of the manufacturers.
• Utilization - energy consumption is monitored, heat production is minimised, consumables (printer cartridges) are procured and recycled through manufacturers.
• Disposal - all ICT systems are disposed of through approved recycling firms.

The use of public transport where available is encouraged. We no longer maintain a company car scheme.

We maintain a no smoking policy within company offices and in the near vicinity to the buildings.

We are committed to maintaining our office external environment and grounds to high standards. As members of the local management company we invest our resources to maintain a good visual perspective and the environmental condition of our grounds.
